Bernie Carbo

Bernie Carbo is revered to this day in the New England area as the man who hit two pinch-hit homeruns in the 1975 World Series for the Boston Red Sox against the Cincinnati Reds. Bernie was drafted by these same Reds in the first round of the 1965 draft ahead of their number two pick, Hall of Famer, Johnny Bench. Bernie broke into Major Leagues to stay in 1970 and was named as The Sporting News National League Rookie of the Year.

But all was not well in Carbo's life. He soon fell into the drugs, alcohol and women. He eventually turned to selling drugs in order to support his habits. But God had his hand on Bernie. Through a series of what the world might call coincidences, but Bernie knows was God's intervention in his life, Bernie came to accept Christ into his life.

He now runs "The Diamond Club Ministry" and spends his time teaching kids about the greatest game ever played and the greatest story ever told - that of salvation. Bernie has a very powerful testimony which he freely shares - a sinner saved by grace. Audiences of all ages love to hear Bernie's amazing story and of what God is now doing in his life. Bernie tailors his delivery to account to the age and maturity of his audience.

Bernie is available to run baseball clinics for children and youths and is an excellent teacher of the fundamentals of baseball. He also takes the opportunity to teach these kids life skills which he has learned the hard way. And of course, he is one of our most popular Christian speakers who will challenge the lives of all who hear his incredible story.
